Giles Barnes unites with Liga MX team Club Leon

Jamaica international Giles Barnes has ended a five-year stint in the United States Major League Soccer (MLS) after recently signing with Mexican Liga MX club Club Leon.
The 29-year-old forward spent last season with Orlando City SC, scoring three goals and getting two assists in 34 appearances and 23 starts.  Barnes previously spent four and a half years of his MLS career with Houston, helping the
Dynamo to an appearance in the MLS Cup in 2012.  He was traded to Vancouver midway through the 2016 season.  The forward did not spend much time at the Canadian MLS franchise, however, as he was then moved in exchange for Brek Shea just before the start of the 2017 campaign.
At the end of last season, Orlando opted against renewing the player’s contract, which left him searching for a new club.  Barnes’ best season in the league came in 2014 with Houston where he played in and started 34 games for the club, scoring 11 goals and adding five assists to lead the team in scoring, which he did in 2013 as well.
Barnes, who scored three goals for the Jamaica national team in 19 appearances, was unveiled by the club on Tuesday.
