Wednesday night's scrap quickly turned nasty as onlookers tried to separate the pair trading blows
Someone who claims to be the man behind the scrap with Justin Bieber has come forward.
Lamont Richmond took to Facebook to give his
side of the story after a video surfaced of Bieber and a much larger man engaging in a fist fight in Cleveland after watching the NBA Finals.
Hours after the video came to light, towering 6'5" Richmond posted a video claiming he was just trying to get an autograph from the 22-year-old star.
"Yo check. The fool ran up on me. I was with the girls. We just asked him for an autograph. I don't know about all this other stuff y'all talking about. I've got nothing else to say," he says in the video shared on Facebook.
While in the video of the fight, obtained by officials, Bieber can be seen face-to-face with the man, who shoves the star in the head before appearing to take a punch to the face.
Both men then start trading blows and grappling, with onlookers trying to separate them as they fall to the floor.
Bieber later laughed off the incident by posting a selfie on his Instagram account to his 70 million followers, along with the caption: "Not a scratch on this pretty boy!"
