“My son was the inspiration for me entering the competition … Mi want me son born come see me a King,” were the words uttered by Accid, minutes before he was crowned the male 2016 winner of the Magnum Kings and Queens competition.
A consistent performer each week, fans were left reeling when he failed to deliver the potent lyrics needed to win the clash segment with Zigma. Luckily for him, it was the
votes that counted and not the opinions of the judges.
Zigma, dressed in full camouflage attire and a toy AK-47, came prepared for battle and was easily declared the winner of the clash. For his part, Accid, who brought a white body bag and shovel to the stage, was barely audible and lacked the hard hitting lyrics that fans had been expecting.
Opportunity
The clash between Clymaxx and Mi Ya Estro was fiery, but it was clear that Clymaxx was the winner long before the judges made their announcement. At one point, Mi Ya Estro seemingly forgot her lyrics and Clymaxx used the opportunity to demolish her opponent.
“I’m excited about winning, Clymaxx already has plans for her music career. This nah go be the last unuh hear of Clymaxx. Me a go take it to the world. Look out fi me. It’s an awesome feeling. Thanks to everybody who vote fi Clymaxx,” she told the cheering crowd.
Though she had to be as objective as possible throughout the competition, when Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall ended on Saturday, judge Miss Kitty disclosed that the voters made the right choices.
