In California 3 Dead and 2 Seriously Injured After Fiery Crash

Officials say three people have been killed and two others seriously injured following a fiery, four-car accident in Woodland Hills, California that shut down Ventura Boulevard in both directions.
The Los Angeles Times reports the accident happened about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 20900 block of Ventura Boulevard.

Brian Humphrey with the Los Angeles Fire Department says passersby used fire extinguishers and buckets of water to tamp down flames after a car caught fire and trapped two people inside.
Eight people were involved in the accident. Three refused medical attention. Two of the people taken to the hospital were listed in serious condition.
No further information was immediately available.
Ventura Boulevard between De Soto and Paralta avenues was closed as the investigation continued.
