Thunder have the upper hand over Warriors in game three

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led the Oklahoma City Thunder to a commanding win over the Golden State Warriors and a 2-1 series lead.

The Oklahoma City Thunder put on a clinic on home court as they dominated defending champions the Golden State Warriors in game three of the NBA Western Conference final on Sunday, winning 133-105.

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were in perfect harmony as they produced a huge effort to stamp the Thunder's authority on what is shaping up to be a remarkable best-of-seven series, which Oklahoma City now lead 2-1.

Westbrook posted a double-double - his 12th of the play-offs - with 30 points and 12 assists, as Durant had a game-high 33 points.

The Thunder got off to the perfect start, taking a six-point lead by the end of the first quarter and they increased that advantage to 25 points at half-time - Oklahoma City's highest post-season tally to the main break in franchise history - despite a mini-fightback from Golden State.

Golden State looked second-best throughout and as the margin got wider - the Thunder were up by over 40 points in the third which was 37 at the start of the final quarter - the more desperate they became.

Stephen Curry still led the Warriors with 24 points, but his shooting became increasingly forced and erratic, finishing with seven-of-17 from the floor.

Klay Thompson (18 points) was the only other Warriors player to register double-figure points, a stark comparison to the Thunder, who had six players with 10 points or more.

Game four is back in Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
