Goule from Jamaica upbeat over 800 metres this season

Jamaica’s 800 metre runner Natoya Goule opened her season with a third-place finish at the 2016 LSU Alumni Gold Meet at the Bernie Moore Track Stadium in Louisiana on Saturday and declared herself in great shape.
Goule, who holds the track record of 2:00.76, clocked 2:03.40, to finish a close third to
Morgan Schuetz of LSU (2:02.29) and Charlene Lipsey of Tiger Olympians, who was first across the line in 2:01.88. Despite not winning, the diminutive half-miler was pretty content with the performance.
“Well, at this time I think I am in a good position because this is my season opener,” she explained to Sportsmax.tv.
“The race didn't go as planned because I went out too slowly so I could have run faster if I had more confidence, but it only takes time and I am in great shape.”
She believes that as long as she continues to make progress this season and remains injury free, she will produce the times she desires, revealing that she feels she can go 1:58 or faster this season.
“It will show when it really matters because I trust in God and I know He has something in store for me this year or whenever he thinks is the right time for me.”
