This year marks deejay G Blunt's 10th year as a recording artiste. In that time, he has done a number of 'combinations' with acta such as Cherine Anderson and Mr Easy.
Recently, he recorded his biggest collaboration. The song is Stop Playing, and it is done with heavyweight rapper 50 Cent.
Stop Playing is produced by Jungle Beats and is scheduled for a summer release.
G Blunt said the link with 50 Cent came through his management who have close ties to the New York hip hop scene. The rapper recently did a song with upcoming Jamaican deejay Diablo and was looking for a similar follow-up.
“Him was looking for a deejay wid a big voice but him neva want nuh big name. So, mi sen’ him some song to listen an’ dem get back to mi,” said G Blunt.
Though no release date has been set, G Blunt knows a song with 50 Cent may be a turning point in his career.
“It can boost mi in a big way ‘cause a diamond dem man dey sell,” he said, referring to 50 Cent’s status as one of contemporary music’s biggest sellers.
From Vineyard Town in East Kingston, G Blunt (given name Collin Clarke) kicked off his career in 2006 with the song Inna The Club.
Make Love To Me (with Anderson) and Hot A Road, a collaboration with singjay Future Fambo, are among his recent songs.
