Following up on his win in the Diamond Mineral Water-sponsored feature 35-lap race last week at the National Park, Orville Hinds of Team Evolution won his second race in a row claiming top spot at Saturday’s Annual Star Party Rentals feature 35-lap race at the same venue.
Hinds won the event in one hour, 16 minutes and 31.71 seconds. But while he won the race, it was his teammate Michael Anthony who claimed all the prime prizes available. Anthony was second in the race with Junior Niles finishing third.
Hinds led from the the very start along with Raphael Leung. Anthony joined the duo up front a lap later and subsequently surged ahead, opening a sizeable lead.
Hinds gradually separated himself from the pack and sped past Anthony with about 200 metres to go and held him off until the end.
In the race for the other top four places, Niles attacked the main chasing pack with about 125 metres remaining and opened an approximately six-length lead which he maintained to the end.
Later on, Raphael Leung returned 26 minutes 18.85 seconds to win the 10-lap race for juveniles. Briton John was second while Deeraj Garbarran finished third.
Keon Thomas defended his mountain bike title, winning in a time of 11 minutes 55 seconds. Richard Charles and Ozia McAually were second and third respectively.
In the BMX Boys 6-9 years, Shay Sue Hand won the two-lap race ahead of Ajanil Culley and Aqueala Lewis.
The veterans’ over 50 five-lap race was won by Raymond Newton.
